Those who know me know that I love animals. All kinds. Started with my childhood pets, Pug, a beagle, and Ikey, a cat. I was that kid who always brought home the injured bird or pregnant cat, much to my mother’s regret. That hasn’t changed – I have a family of semi-feral cats who live on my porch (and have a specially-built winter house) as well as a young raccoon who thanks he is part of the cat clan and likes to snooze in the rafters of the porch. Little wonder that I have added pet photography to my other photographic services.
But animal portraits don’t need to be confined to the usual subjects. I love the chance to photograph all kinds of wild and wooly subjects. Every animal has a personality that can shine. ANd it is truly a wonder to look into their eyes.
Below are a few outside-the-box portraits of animals who are beloved by their human companion (and one of Cecil, my rafter-loving raccoon).
