Recently, we three went to visit the historic Mt. Olivet Cemetery. I’ve been there before with different lists of what I wanted to shoot. There are many visually interesting things there: crypts, architectural details, and many statues. This time I planned continue to work on the tree series that has been occupying much of my photographic time lately.
This cemetery turned out to have a wealth of interesting trees, I don’t know one tree from the next but I look for a certain graphic quality. I transversed the grounds from one end to the other, mostly looking up.
To me trees are timeless and deserve our respect and attention. I decided on creating a old feel to the images to evoke this timelessness and the solemn nature of their setting.
