The gift in winter is the invitation to dormancy– the state of having normal physical functions suspended or slowed down for a period of time like the state in which a plant is alive but not actively growing.
We may respond to nature’s bidding by slowing our pace a bit, wrapping up with a good book in front a fire, or simply taking a few moments here and there to cogitate and mull.
