Photographing Hope

It was during a question-and-answer session focused on a four-woman photographic exhibit that a viewer of the exhibit asked me, “What do you like to photograph?” Without hesitation I replied, “I like to photograph hope.”

It was an unmeditated response on my part. It did, however, naturally flow from my photographic intent of inviting, through my seeing, our external environment to open windows to our interior landscapes. That is to say, my photographic images often lead the viewer to examine one of the many states of our souls. Sometimes they include peeks into the soulful space called hope.
