The house was not abandoned…just mostly empty with no current occupant living in it. The house ‘whispered’ its stories to me as I wandered through, camera in hand.
Generations of one family had lived in the once stately farm house in rural Tennessee.
While photographing, I ‘heard’ stories of the family celebrating births and honoring deaths in this house. I ‘heard’ the pitter patter of little feet growing up in this house. I ‘heard’ families celebrating Christmases, birthdays, first dances, graduations, engagements, and many other family holidays and events in this house. I ‘heard’ the giggles and laughter; the songs of celebrations. The house ‘whispered’ stories of life’s joys….and yes, life’s sorrows.
What stories do you ‘hear’ through these images? I invite you to share what you ‘hear’ by leaving a comment.

I am so very grateful to dear friends who allowed me the honor and privilege of photographing their family home-place.
An elegant house beautifully photographed. I love the compositions and the light.
