Recently while in Colorado, I spent a day stopping at a few of the many wildlife viewing areas along the Yampas River.
It was a rather cloudy day, spring had not yet shown herself. I spent quite a lot of time enthralled by the swallows skimming the small ponds. It took a lot of tries to get photos of them just above the water.
My time here was of quiet contemplation. The only sounds were of the nearby river and native birds.
I was quite taken with the reflections of the reeds and trees and their graphic imagery. After many days photographing the beautiful colors of the high desert I felt I could return with these images to my penchant for black and white.
