As a photographer nowadays we have tons of tools to use to interpret how we want our image to look. Ninety-five percent are way to wacky for most of us to use but once and a while it’s fun to play.
That’s what I did the other day. Here is the original image that I started with:
The first time I saw these flowers I thought they were the coolest flowers ever. Being from New England I had never seen them before. Of course, the first thing I did was make it black and white:
More emphasis on the shape and less on the color. Next I tried out a painterly, watercolor look:
An antiqued look:
And finally, how it would look as a canvas print:
There were tons more I could have tried out but you get the drift. Sometimes, playing around can lead to new ideas and sometimes it’s just a fun experiment.
