As a photographer I get very excited to get a commission. After all, the hard work of deciding what to shoot is done for you. A while ago I was asked to go to Americus, Georgia to take images of the town that were going to be used as part of the art installation at a new hospital. The old hospital was destroyed in a tornado and the townspeople were justifiably proud of their new one. It was a charming town and not hard for find interesting things to shoot. Not only did I get to meet some wonderful people but I got to see a little piece of the country that I probably would not have otherwise.
A few months later I was able to return to see my work installed in the main lobby of the hospital. A proud moment indeed!
